A One-of-a-Kind Learning Experience

 

The Vet Assist Program at West Broward High School is unlike any other program in Broward County Schools. It provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to turn their passion for animals into hands-on learning experiences that can shape their future.

​

Every day, students work directly with dogs through the program’s doggie daycare, gaining valuable experience in animal care, handling, and professional responsibility. They also spend time working with horses at the barn, giving them exposure to a wide range of animal-care experiences that extend far beyond the classroom.

 

Students who successfully complete the program requirements earn certification as Veterinary Technician Assistants, preparing them for future careers and further education in the veterinary field.

But the learning doesn’t stop on campus! The program offers students unforgettable educational experiences, including three-day trips to the University of Florida’s veterinary program, visits to Guardian Angel Medical Service Dogs and Mystic Jungle, along with educational trips to multiple Disney parks. These experiences combine education, career exploration, and fun in ways that keep students engaged and excited to learn.
